Adult Dogs for Adoption

These are just some of the adult dogs that have been adopted.

Adopting an adult dog from a rescue organization comes with a multitude of positive benefits! By choosing to bring home an adult dog, you are giving a deserving and often overlooked companion a second chance at a happy and fulfilling life. These dogs have often faced various hardships and are grateful for the love and care they receive in their new homes. Adult dogs from rescues typically come with established temperaments and behaviours, allowing you to make a more informed decision about compatibility with your lifestyle and family. They are often already house-trained and have a better understanding of basic commands, making the transition into your home smoother. Moreover, by adopting, you are helping to reduce the number of dogs in shelters and making space for more animals in need. The bond formed with an adult rescue dog can be incredibly rewarding, as they truly appreciate the love and security provided to them, and the joy they bring to your life is immeasurable!

I'm Sam!

ADOPT ME!
Status: Available
Female | Mixed breed | Size: Medium
Age: January 25, 2024
Good with:
Dogs: Yes
Cats: Yes
Kids: Yes

About Me: I am Sam. Sam I am. And given the chance, yes, I would enjoy green eggs and ham. Thanks for asking. Actually, I’m told I’m sweet and memorable, steady and mindful, soft and mellow, and, on my best days, someone absolutely marvellous (get it… S.A.M.?). I can come across a little cautious at first, mostly because I like to make sure new people are safe before I hand over my heart, but once I settle in, I’m all warmth, gentle affection, and quiet loyalty.

I’m also becoming braver by the day. Confidence has been sneaking up on me in the nicest way, showing up as playtime with other dogs, a little curiosity, and the kind of calm that comes from finally feeling secure. I bond deeply with my person, not in a clingy way, but in a “you rescued me and I will never forget that” way, the kind of devotion that feels steady, not loud. If you’re looking for a dog who brings peace to a room and love to a routine, I do that naturally.

I’ve had all my vet care, I’m ready for the good part of life, and I’m not looking to be a temporary chapter. If you want a gentle soul with kind eyes and a heart that’s been waiting to trust the right people, I'm your man! So, send a message and schedule a meeting. Someone adopt me! Look out world - I'm coming home!

I'm Dena!

ADOPT ME!
Status: Available
Female | Mixed breed | Size: Lrg
Age: Nov 15, 2024
Good with:
Dogs: Yes
Cats: Yes
Kids: Yes, with proper introduction

About Me: I’m Dena, and trust is not exactly my party trick. I am the sister of Zori and Scar, but while they have been making faster progress, I have been taking the scenic route, with several detours, a few internal roadblocks, and absolutely no interest in being rushed. Even after months and months, I am still a very nervous girl who needs a long time to warm up to people. I am not rude. I am not dramatic. I am simply conducting a highly selective, painfully thorough review process before deciding whether you belong in my circle of acceptable beings.

What helps me most is calm, patient exposure to kind humans, excellent treats, and enough positive experiences to slowly convince my nervous system that not every person is a walking crisis. Other dogs make a big difference for me. I get along well with them, and they help me feel safer, steadier, and a little less like I have been personally assigned to monitor every possible threat on Earth. People are harder. I need time, softness, consistency, and someone who understands that progress for me may look small from the outside. Standing a little closer. Leaving a little slower. Accepting a treat without acting like it might be part of an elaborate scam. That is growth, thank you very much.

I am not an instant-gratification dog. I am not the furry equivalent of “some assembly required.” I am a slow build, a long game, a quiet little soul with a worried heart and, underneath it all, every reason to believe I could still become somebody’s dog in the fullest sense of the word. What I need is a person with patience, compassion, and a decent sense of humour, because frankly, if you cannot laugh a little while celebrating microscopic victories, this may not be your sport. But if you can see the beauty in small breakthroughs, and if you believe that trust earned slowly is still trust worth having, I think I am worth the effort. No fireworks. No fake promises. Just me, doing my best, and hoping someone out there is willing to meet me there.

I'm Scar!

ADOPT ME!
Status: Available
Male | Mixed breed | Size: Med-Lrg - TBD
Age: Nov 15, 2024
Good with:
Dogs: Yes
Cats: Yes
Kids: Yes, with proper introduction

About Me: Hi I’m Scar! Yes, the name is memorable, but I earned it honestly. I got the scar on my nose back when my sisters and I lived outside, and I like to think it came from my early career in the SSS - Sibling Security Services. Protective brother, part time survivor, full time sensitive soul. These days, I can still be pretty skittish, and I do carry some separation anxiety. Every now and again when stress gets the better of me, I have been known to participate in the sport of Extreme Exploring With Teeth. I even won third prize in the Puppy Olympics for it, which feels like the kind of achievement that should come with a ribbon and a very chew-proof trophy. Underneath the worry, though, I’m smart, young, and absolutely capable of learning. And I have gotten much better and learned that that sort of extreme sport should only happen outside of the house!

What I need most is another dog in the home. That is not a bonus feature for me - it is essential. I feel safer, calmer, and more confident when I have a canine friend nearby to help me figure out that the world is not as scary as it I remember it from my early days. I need an adopter with patience, consistency, and a real commitment to training, because I am not a quick fix and I am not pretending to be one. I may always be a little cautious, but I am young enough and clever enough to keep growing, and I deserve the chance to do that with someone who understands that trust is built, not rushed.

I want a training partner and to be part of the family. If you have a steady dog, a patient heart, and room in your life for a brave boy who is still learning how to feel safe, I think we might be exactly what each other needs!

I'm Zori!

ADOPT ME!
Status: Available
Female | Mixed breed | Size: Med-Lrg  - TBD
Age: Nov 15, 2024
Good with:
Dogs: Yes
Cats: Yes
Kids: Yes

About Me: I’m Zori, and while I may have started out as a card carrying member of the “absolutely not, thank you” club, I have made serious progress. I used to be much more skittish, but these days I am softer, braver, and much more open to the idea that humans might actually be worth keeping around. Personal growth looks good on me! I still like a little time to settle in and decide everything is safe, but once I do, I turn into a very affectionate girl who is more than happy to hand out love like I invented it.

I also adore kids, which feels like a bold career choice for a dog who once approached life with understandable suspicion, but here we are. Older kids would likely be best for me, since I still appreciate a bit of calm and respect for my space, but I truly do love being around them. Give me a kind family, a gentle routine, and people who understand that trust is something special, and I will give you the sweetest version of myself. Not flashy. Not dramatic. Just the real thing. Warm, loyal, and very ready to belong.

Honestly, I think I am done with my former life as a cautious little question mark. I am ready to be someone’s dog. Not a project, not a maybe, not a “someday once she settles.” I am ready for my forever home now. So if you have been looking for a gentle girl with a tender heart, a quiet brave streak, and a surprising amount of affection tucked behind those careful first impressions, I am right here, ready to make this whole forever thing official.

Help is always welcomed and appreciated!
